The Wedgwood Parent-Teacher Association, or PTA, is a vital part of the Wedgwood community. As a member of the PTA, you add your voice to hundreds of other Wedgwood PTA parents who are committed to taking an active role in their child’s school experience. Strengthening the link between our children’s advocates (parents & teachers), builds school community and shows your children the value you place on their education.
Some of the ways the Wedgwood PTA contributes to the enrichment of your child’s education include:
Essential School, Student and Staff Support: Tutors, Librarian, School counselor, Intervention Specialist and Playground Staff
Educational Tools: Computers, Library Books and Classroom Supplies
Community Building Events: Back-to-School BBQ, Spring Carnival, and School Dances
Volunteer Programs: Field Trips and Art Docent Program
Educational & Cultural Events: Around the World Celebration Festival and Science Night
School Communication: Weekly Newsletter, Website, and E-mail updates
Anyone can join the PTA. The time commitment is up to you. We have 2-3 General Membership meetings per year where PTA members can vote on issues important to our school community. Attending meetings is voluntary and is not required; however we encourage you to come as often as you can. We are always looking for new insights, ideas and people to make our school and events a success.
There are many ways to get involved, and we hope you’ll choose to join!
