Comfort Kits Due to Your Child’s Classroom Fri., December 14
Is that Ziploc bag stuffed with comfort kit items for your kiddo still sitting on your countertop? Time to finish it and return it to your child’s teacher. Please visit this PTA website page if you’re missing the suggested items list or sample letter, and remember: scholarships are available for any family who needs assistance.
Wondering where this idea for comfort kits came from? Visit our new blog on the PTAWebsite to learn about the trio of Wedgwood volunteers responsible for ensuring that each child at our school is safe and comfortable during an emergency.
Winter pajama drive ends Friday
Last week, the Wedgwood Staff announced the launch of a Pajama Drive at Wedgwood in lieu of the Winter Clothing Drive, and a new way to help those in need. Students and families can bring in brand new pajamas in all sizes from newborn to adult and leave them in the bin located outside of the library. The pajama drive will end this Friday, December 14.
If 100 pairs are brought in, Wedgwood will have an all-school pajama party before winter break!
Diversity and inclusion meeting on Friday, Dec. 14
Please join the Diversity & Inclusion Committee; our next meeting is this Friday Dec. 14 after the morning bell (8 a.m) in the library. All are welcome - please join us!
Also, the first selection of our book club is “Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People.”
The PTA Diversity and Inclusion committee is co-chaired by Aki Carroll and Liza Rankin, and we encourage anyone to participate in the committee. We are here to support you! Questions? Email us at email@example.com
Holiday gifts for Wedgwood specialists and staff
It’s time to plan for holiday gifts for specialists & staff - anyone at Wedgwood who doesn’t have a room parent to organize a gift for them (e.g., Music, Art, P.E., custodians, office staff, crossing guard). Contributions can be made via Venmo (firstname.lastname@example.org) or PayPal and are due by Sunday, December 16. Please comment “Specialists” when sending. This is entirely optional. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Thank you to everyone who donated to the food drive at the Fall dance. Thanks to your generosity we have filled up the Wedgwood Pantry. If your family is in need of food support simply visit the pantry (located in the basement near the elevator) and either grab pre-packaged bags or select whatever you'd like by creating your own bag. The Wedgwood Pantry is supplemented all year long by donating to the food drive bin at the main entrance. Thank you for your support! - Yoko Shimomura
