Did you know that October is also known as Walktober and is International Walk to School Month? You should have already received a walking minutes log for each student in Kid Mail so you can track your walking in October. Turn it in at the end of the month and we'll see which classroom has walked the most! Learn more.

Any walking counts -- not just walking to school. This is a great warm-up for the Move-a-Thon

During Move-a-thon, Wedgwood students raise money for the Wedgwood PTA by collecting pledges (per-mile donations, or flat donations) and then walking, jogging, running (skipping)… “moving” around the school track! And wow - are these kids proud to put in the miles!! Learn more.

The Scholastic Book Fair is hosted by the Wedgwood Library with the help of mighty parent volunteers. Classrooms visit the library throughout the week to shop. Sale hours:

  • 11/12: 7:30 am-3:30 pm

  • 11/13: 7:30 am-2:30 pm

  • 11/14: 7:30 am-3:30 pm

  • 11/15: 7:30 am-3:30 pm + during the Fall Dance

Wedgwood Food Drive

The annual Wedgwood Pantry Food Drive begins November 12th and lasts the week!

Please bring canned food (soup, meats, fruit, vegetables), beans, pasta, rice & kid-friendly (raisins, mac ‘n cheese, crackers, etc.) and our volunteer team will help organize and set up the Wedgwood Food Pantry for the year. Learn more.

Join us in the transformed Wedgwood cafeteria for a DJ’ed dance party! Bring your dancing shoes PLUS a non-perishable canned or boxed food item to support our Wedgwood Pantry (donations bins will be located in the hallways).

Party features:

  • DJ’d Dance Party!: The lights are low and the music is jumpin’ in the cafeteria!!

  • 2nd Dance Space: Students who prefer lights on and a bit quieter music will enjoy a 2nd dance space in the gym.

  • Quiet Space: Room 14 will be a quiet space with board games & coloring pages.

  • Not-to-miss Surprise!: Come to the cafeteria between 6:15-6:30 for some excellent entertainment!!

Just a reminder that our Winter Concert: Wedgwood Around the World will occur on December 19th from 5:30-7:30 PM at Nathan Hale High School! Join us for a night full of songs in a wide range of languages and dances from cultures all around the globe! The concert night will be split into two concerts with Grades K-2 performing from 5:30-6:15pm and Grades 3-5 performing from 6:45-7:30pm.  Choir will be performing their songs at both concerts!

Our Kindergarten Musical will be Friday, June 5th at 6pm on the Wedgwood Stage (in the cafeteria).

Please drop your student off in their classrooms at 5:40 before finding your seat. 

We have made head pieces for our costumes, but other than that students can wear what they want (some want to wear the color that matches their animals). Thank you! Prepare for the adorableness!

Fridays are Wedgwood spirit days where staff and students show their spirit by wearing Wedgwood gear! To snag your schwag, turn the attached Spirit Gear Order Form into the school front office by September 27, 2019, along with a check made out to Wedgwood PTA, and we'll send home your gear with the named child. We’ll then submit one big order for printing!

Please join us for curriculum night Thursday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Classroom teachers will be giving the same presentation twice in order to accommodate families that have multiple students at the school. The agenda for Curriculum Night is:

  • 6:00-6:25 Classroom Session 1

  • 6:25-6:30 Travel time for parents

  • 6:30-6:55 Classroom Session 2

  • 6:55 Parents and staff to the cafeteria

  • 7:00 PTA Updates and Voting

  • 7:20-7:40 Principal’s presentation

  • 7:40 Adjourn

Due to physical space issues and staff schedules, we will be unable to provide childcare for Curriculum Night. However, we want all families to attend so please feel free to bring your child (with a snack and a book) if you are unable to find childcare.

Have an incoming 4th or 5th grade student curious about the Wedgwood Instrumental Music (WIM) program (taught to our lucky kids by the multi-talented Mr. Dugdale?!)?

For all kids considering the WIM program for 2019-20 school year, Kennelly Keys is bringing instruments to the Wedgwood Cafeteria on Wednesday, June 12 from 6-7 p.m. for an “Instrument Petting Zoo”.  Open to all students (and their families) entering 4th or 5th grade, this is a GREAT opportunity for kids to try out a variety of instruments, and for parents to ask questions about the rental process, etc. 

Mr. Dugdale will be on hand as well to answer questions about the program!

Please join us as we welcome our final speaker for this school year, Michelle Warsing. We will begin with a 15 minute PTA General Meeting where next year’s PTA Board will be announced.

In this parent education workshop Michelle will help us understand our child’s brain - what is happening when they have the “big emotions” we’ve all experienced? We will learn how to implement strategies and tools to help respond and connect with our kids, and apply growth mindset skills at home.

FREE Childcare is provided by Wedgwood staff.
