A message from our Fundraising Team
Hi Wedgwood families!
We are your returning PTA fundraising leads, Jess Hartman and Nassim Pietsch. Between our two families, we have four students at Wedgwood this year and an alum! We love our school community and are very excited to kick off this year.
We are pumped to share a couple BIG fundraising announcements!
First, the AUCTION/PARENT SOCIAL EVENT will return this year in the spring!
To fit this into the calendar, we are shifting the MOVE-A-THON to the fall - so students who were with us in the spring get two MATs in one year!! Heads up - interested fifth-graders will submit their design for our MAT t-shirt in October!
Our third fundraiser of the year will be the READ-A-THON during Winter Break, which is done with Ms. Leland leading the reading. It was such a huge hit last year, we had to bring it back!
The PTA fundraising goal for the 2023-2024 year is $154,000.
Why do we Fundraise?
To fill in the gaps where the needs of the school exceed the amount budgeted by the district. These gaps include paying for portions of salaries – like those of our librarian and interventionists – school equipment and grants, and a $500 yearly stipend that teachers can use for classroom supplies.
To prioritize educational justice and anti-racist work for our entire school community, including providing new curriculum materials and sponsoring training sessions.
To build community for our school. We lead teacher and staff appreciation on behalf of the larger community, and we program activities for students and families that bring joy and foster connection.
We know that every family has different financial circumstances, so our fundraisers will also have a focus on participation. We recognize that any amount donated helps our school and all students who attend.
Finally, we partner with community businesses to sponsor the PTA. If you are interested in becoming a Corporate Sponsor for the upcoming year, please email us. Your company logo will be included in PTA correspondence, displayed on our website and at PTA events, and included in auction publicity.
