Potluck & Speaker Success!

Last week, our Wedgwood community turned out in a big way for our first Potluck & Speaker event of the year. We enjoyed pizza with our fellow families and learned from Michelle Warsing strategies for helping our kids handle the big emotions and anxieties that come along with daily life. We truly enjoy being able to present our community with speakers who will help us all have happy kids and calm homes. Thank you to Sepideh Zolfaghari for organizing our speakers!

Birds & Bees & Kids @ View Ridge

Please join us at View Ridge Elementary School on Wednesday, February 5th 6:30-8:00pm for another parent information night co-hosted by View Ridge, Bryant and Wedgwood Elementaries.

When it comes to talking to our kids about sex and sexuality, parents often don’t know what to say or when to say it. Award-winning author and speaker Amy Lang will explore how to start an age-appropriate conversation based on your own family values. Fun and funny, Amy takes topics most adults feel uncomfortable with and makes them easy and approachable. She has been featured in the Seattle Times, Dan Savage’s (of The Stranger) podcast, The AtlanticCNN and others.

The PTA Needs YOU! Nominate our Next Leaders

We are looking for a few people to help with this year's nominating committee.  The committee  helps with the recruiting and nominating of our PTA Executive Board (President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary) and outreach in general for other PTA board positions. This is a great way to get involved and learn about the PTA with a low time commitment! Please contact ann.grodnik@gmail.com to get involved.

Middle School Tours

If you have a 5th grader this year, consider attending the upcoming information nights for Eckstein and Jane Addams middle schools.

Follow the links above for schedules and more information.

Looking for a way to ensure your daughter is learning vital life skills such as leadership, teamwork and confidence, all while having FUN? Sign her, and her friends, up for softball! North Seattle Softball offers opportunities for girls ages 7-12 and the season begins in early March. NSS is a part of North Seattle Baseball & Softball Association’s PONY league.

  • There are three divisions: Pinto (ages 7-8; “coach pitch”), Mustang (ages 9-10 “kid pitch”), Bronco (ages 11-12).

  • Play with friends! You can create your own team; if you don’t have a team, you will be placed with an existing team and make new friends.

  • Clinics are offered throughout the season led by professional coaches as well as former and current collegiate softball players.
